Khao Takiab

Khao Takiab runs from the northern end of OpenStreetMap’s Khao Takiab Beach, beside Chiva-Som, south along Takiab Road to the hill itself and Hua Don beach beyond it. The Tourism Authority of Thailand places Khao Takiap, “Chopsticks Hill”, at the southern end of Hua Hin Beach, with a temple on top. Hua Hin Municipality describes it as a granite hill on the south side of Hua Hin bay, with a road up to the temple, and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports’ directory calls Khao Takiab beach fairly quiet.

Cicada Market and the Vana Nava water park, both of which we list under things to do, are on this stretch.

We list six places here. Bonne Nuit Hotel, beside Cicada Market, has a perfect 10 for staff at around ฿1,680 a night. The Kaset is an officially five-star hotel at around ฿1,667. Ruenkanok Thaihouse Resort has wooden Thai-style villas at around ฿3,318. Holiday Inn Resort Vana Nava, VERSO Hua Hin and the adults-only Let’s Sea are the five-stars, at around ฿4,220, ฿4,316 and ฿6,536.

No smoking on the beach. The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources lists Khao Takiab among 24 beaches where smoking is banned, and says it provides designated smoking areas on them.
