Checked on 19 September 2026. The description is from the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The palace's own site could not be read, so the fee and hours are given only as reported. The Tourism Authority also uses the spelling Maruekhathaiyawan. We have not been.
Verified via. The Tourism Authority of Thailand describes the palace, its 16 teak buildings and 23 staircases, its designation as a cultural heritage site in 1981 and its role as a museum. The position is from Wikidata.
Admission
Not confirmed. The palace's own website failed its security check, and the provincial and tourism pages refused access. Manager Online, citing the palace's Facebook page in May 2024, gave opening as Friday to Sunday, 09:00 to 17:00, at 90 baht for adults, and a local guide site gives 90 baht too. Neither is the palace itself.
Mrigadayavan Palace, which the Tourism Authority of Thailand also spells Maruekhathaiyawan, was King Rama VI’s seaside palace at Cha-am. The Tourism Authority says the king built it in 1923 as a seaside health retreat, and describes it as 16 teak buildings connected by balconies and corridors, raised on pillars to help the air move, with 23 staircases.
It was designated a cultural heritage site in 1981, and the Tourism Authority says it now works as an educational museum, with exhibits on conservation and history.
Is there a fee? Almost certainly, but we could not read the palace’s own site. Manager Online, citing the palace’s Facebook page in May 2024, gave Friday to Sunday opening at 90 baht for adults. Check before you go. VALA Hua Hin is about 3km away in a straight line, the nearest of our Cha-am picks.
