Lanta Old Town

The Old Town, Ban Si Raya, is on the east coast of Lanta Yai, across the island from the beaches. The Government Public Relations Department describes it as a fishing community several hundred years old, home to Thai Buddhist, Thai Chinese and Thai Muslim families.

We list six, all Researched Picks, and on average they carry both the best wifi scores and the best value-for-money scores of any area on the island. Of those with a January price: Sweet Life Guesthouse is around ฿900, Baan Chainarong, about 1.1km south of the centre, has a pool at around ฿1,500, Navareeya House Seaview is around ฿1,900, Poohry Seaview, a room on stilts over the water on the main street, is around ฿3,900, with a perfect 10 for wifi and the fewest reviews we carry on Koh Lanta, and Verona Lanta Resort has a pool at around ฿7,000. Fresh House, about 140 metres from the centre of the Old Town as OpenStreetMap marks it, is around ฿1,656 for 15 to 18 November 2026 (there was no price for 12 to 15 January 2027), with a perfect 10 for wifi.
