Klong Muang

Klong Muang is on the coast north-west of Ao Nang, and our picks here are about 8.1 to 9.3km from OpenStreetMap’s point for Ao Nang Beach in straight lines.

On average it is still the lowest-scoring of our Krabi areas, and the lowest on value for money, though every pick here clears our bar. Of those with a January price: Kohkwang Seaview Resort is around ฿2,736 a night, Mukrada House around ฿6,000, and Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra around ฿23,248, beachfront with a spa and a golf course. VARANA is around ฿7,527 for 15 to 18 November 2026 (held for a spot check). Z-Talay House is around ฿1,477 and Krabi Sands Resort around ฿2,640, both for 15 to 18 November 2026 (there was no price for 12 to 15 January 2027).

Wifi is the thing to check here rather than assume. The scores run from 9.0 down to 7.0, a two-point swing beaten only by Nopparat Thara, and the area average is the lowest of the five. Two of our six, Krabi Sands and Z-Talay House, sit under 7.7.

The other caution is sample size. Mukrada House and Z-Talay House carry 442 and 438 combined reviews, the two thinnest in Krabi, and only Nopparat Thara averages fewer reviews across its picks. The scores here are real but several of them rest on a few hundred guests rather than a few thousand.

At the good end: Kohkwang Seaview scores 9.7 for staff, VARANA has four pools and a 9.5 for comfort, and Mukrada House takes a 9.3 for both cleanliness and comfort on a beachfront plot at the quiet northern end.
