Nopparat Thara is the beach immediately north-west of Ao Nang. OpenStreetMap’s points for the two beaches are about 2km apart.

On average our picks here have the best staff scores of any Krabi area, and they share the best value-for-money average with Krabi Town. Loma Place and Baan Habeebee both score 9.7 or better for staff, and Loma Place’s 9.8 is level with the best we list in the province.

The spread is what marks this area out, though. Staff scores swing more here than in any other Krabi area, value for money swings more, and wifi swings most of all: from 9.8 at Baan Habeebee down to 7.6 at The Pin, a 2.2-point range, with Noppharat Krabi Resort carrying no wifi score at all. The beach itself is a fair walk from most of them: Baan Thara’s 8.1 for location is the lowest score we list anywhere in Krabi, and three of our six sit more than 800 metres back from the sand.

One caution on the evidence. No property here carries more than 3,260 combined reviews, the lowest ceiling of the five Krabi areas, and the area’s average review count is the lowest too.
