Nimman

Nimmanhaemin Road, almost always shortened to Nimman, runs west of the Old City with numbered sois running off it. It is the modern half of Chiang Mai: cafes, coworking spaces and newer hotels rather than temples.

The location scores here are the most consistent of our Chiang Mai areas, running from 9.4 to 9.8, a spread of four tenths against seven in the Old City and a full point across the river. That is a neighbourhood where it does not much matter which soi you pick. ARMO Nimman takes the top of that range at 9.8, with AMANOR and U Nimman level on 9.6.

Of those with a January price: ARMO Nimman is around ฿2,250 a night, BED Nimman around ฿2,750, and AMANOR Hotel around ฿10,912. G Nimman is around ฿3,896, U Nimman around ฿5,342 and Hotel Sensai Nimman around ฿15,480, all for 15 to 18 November 2026 (held for a spot check).

Wifi is the opposite of the location consistency. BED Nimman scores 9.9 and G Nimman, on the same soi, scores 8.0. That 9.9 is also the joint lowest ceiling of our four Chiang Mai areas: for a perfect 10 you have to look in the Old City or on the Night Bazaar strip. If you are here to work, read the property’s own number rather than assuming the neighbourhood has you covered.

Value for money is the other thing to watch. U Nimman’s 8.8 is level with the lowest value score we list anywhere in Chiang Mai, and G Nimman is not far above it, while ARMO Nimman scores 9.7.

U Nimman carries 16,058 combined reviews, more than any other property we list in Chiang Mai. Its scores are also the most thoroughly tested.
