Hua Hin railway station
The old wooden station of 1926 and the Royal Waiting Room beside it, kept as a heritage building since trains moved to a new station to the south.

Checked on 19 September 2026. The history is from the government's cultural-heritage register and the Tourism Authority's directory, and the move to the new station from Thai PBS. No primary source gives visiting terms, so none are published. We have not been.
Verified via. The government's cultural-heritage register records the 1911 opening and the 1926 building. The Tourism Authority of Thailand's directory describes the Royal Waiting Room. Thai PBS reported the State Railway of Thailand moving services to a new station building from 11 December 2023. The position is from Wikidata.
Admission
Not confirmed. No primary source states a charge or visiting hours for the old station or the Royal Waiting Room: the State Railway of Thailand's site refused the connection and the municipality's pages returned errors. Search summaries drawing on travel sites say it is free to look round, which we have not been able to confirm.
The railway came before the resort. The government’s cultural-heritage register records King Rama VI attending the opening of the Cha-am to Hua Hin service on 25 November 1911, and the present wooden station building going up in 1926, made from a hall built for the Siamese Kingdom Exhibition celebrations.
Beside it stands the Royal Waiting Room, a four-gabled pavilion built in King Rama VI’s reign and first called the Sanam Chan Pavilion, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s directory.
Trains no longer stop at it. Thai PBS reported the State Railway of Thailand moving services to a new station building south of the old one from 11 December 2023. The old building is registered by the Fine Arts Department, and the railway said it would keep it as a historic tourist site.
Is there a fee? We could not find a primary source either way. It is about 1km from Captain Joe Cafe & Hostel and 780 metres from the Marriott, among our Hua Hin Town picks.
