Wat Huay Mongkol
A temple inland from Hua Hin with a seated statue of the revered monk Luang Pho Thuat, 11.5 metres high by the Tourism Authority's figures.

Admission
Not confirmed. No primary source states a fee or free entry, and the municipality's pages returned errors. A local guide site gives daily hours of 08:00 to 18:00.
Wat Huay Mongkol is in Thap Tai, inland from Hua Hin, about 15km west of the town centre in a straight line. Its statue of the revered monk Luang Pho Thuat is what people come for: the government’s cultural-heritage register records it as the largest likeness of him anywhere, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s directory gives it as 9.9 metres across the lap and 11.5 metres high, on a three-tier base.
The directory also notes a separate image of Luang Pho Thuat carved from ta-khian thong wood, and says the temple was once called Wat Huay Khot, with its present name granted by the King.
Is there a fee? We could not find a primary source either way. You will need your own transport or a driver; none of our picks is nearby, and Hua Hin Town is the closest area.
