Haad Chao Phao & Haad Yao

Haad Chao Phao and Haad Yao are neighbouring beaches on the west coast of Koh Phangan, about 7km from the Thong Sala pier. The Tourism Authority of Thailand places Haad Yao on the west coast and recommends it for sunsets.

High Life Bungalow is beachfront on Haad Yao at around ฿1,440 a night for 15 to 18 November 2026, Baan Kiao around ฿5,500, Nymph Hideout around ฿1,990 for 15 to 18 November 2026, Apple Villas around ฿5,600 and Sunset Hill Boutique Resort around ฿5,100. Then Beyond the Blue Horizon, adults only on Haad Chao Phao, is around ฿14,160.

Beyond the Blue Horizon also has the highest average score of the six, at 9.7 on Booking.com and 9.3 on Agoda, though the larger Agoda sample is the lower of the two.

The scores themselves barely move. The gap between the best and worst average here is 0.9 points, the second narrowest of any Phangan area, so the choice is mostly about price and position rather than quality.

Wifi is the exception, and it swings hard. Nymph Hideout scores a perfect 10 while Baan Kiao, about 300 metres away, scores 7.0, the lowest figure on this coast. Check the property, not the beach.
