Two platforms scoring 9.2 and 9.1 off a sample that large is about as settled as guest data gets. Whatever this place is, it has been doing it consistently for a long time, and there is very little chance of a surprise.

The scorecard is even rather than spectacular: staff 9.5, comfort 9.3, cleanliness 9.2, facilities 9.2, value 9.0. Beachfront, with a spa, at around ฿2,674 a night.

Wifi at 8.5 is the softest number here, and only Sunny Side Resort scores lower on Koh Tao. On an island where a lot of people are working remotely between dives, that is worth knowing, and Mae Ya Resort over on the east coast scores a perfect 10 on the same measure.

Location at 8.9 sits between Sairee’s 9.6 and the east coast’s 8.7, which is Chalok exactly: you can walk to dinner, there is simply less of it than at Sairee.

One note on how we placed this. Chalok Baan Kao and Ao Thian are close enough that nearest-centroid put them 1.23km and 1.28km apart, a margin of fifty metres and not one worth trusting. The property’s own address says Chalok Baan Kao, so that is what we used.
