The Hong Islands day trip
A day among the karsts north of Ao Nang, with a lagoon you enter through a gap in the rock and a viewpoint over the whole group.

Both figures were read off each trip's own Klook page on 18 September 2026 and both clear our bar of 9.0 out of 10 and 50 reviews. The park fee is the department's own published rate rather than an operator's claim, which matters here because the Hong Islands sit in a different park from the Four Islands trip and cost more. We have not done this trip.
Verified via. The Hong Islands lie in Than Bok Khorani National Park, whose entrance fee is published by the Department of National Parks in its own fee table as 300 baht for a foreign adult and 150 for a child. Both operators below were read off their own Klook listing pages on 18 September 2026.

Ko Hong is the main island of a group about an hour north of Ao Nang by boat, with a shallow lagoon enclosed by cliffs that you enter through a narrow opening. The trips usually add Ko Lading, the viewpoint above Hong’s beach, and a snorkel stop.
A different park, and a higher fee. The Hong Islands are in Than Bok Khorani National Park, not the Hat Noppharat Thara park the Four Islands trip uses. The department’s published rate is 300 baht for a foreign adult and 150 for a child. Budget that in cash unless your operator states it is included.
Longtail against speedboat. The longtail trip is the slower, quieter, cheaper day and it suits the lagoon better, because you spend the time you are not saving sitting in a place worth sitting in. The speedboat version adds stops. Both operators listed clear our bar at 4.7 out of 5, and the one with 1,450 reviews behind it sells both formats.
What the photographs do not show. The lagoon is tidal and shallow, and at low water it is mud rather than turquoise. Operators plan around this and not all of them plan well, so the timing question is worth asking before you book.
