Khao Tao is the southern end of Hua Hin municipality, from Suan Son Pradiphat beach south to the village of Khao Tao and the beaches below Khao Tao hill, where the municipality meets Pran Buri district.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand describes Khao Tao village as an old community and home to the Khao Tao Reservoir, a project initiated by the late King Bhumibol, with a community trail linking the reservoir, the village and the beach. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports’ directory says beaches run along both sides of Khao Tao hill, a long one and a smaller, quieter one.
