Haad Rin

Haad Rin is the neck of land at the south-eastern corner of Koh Phangan, with a beach on each side: Haad Rin Nok to the east, where the Full Moon Party is held, and Haad Rin Nai to the west. The Haadrin Queen boat from Samui docks here, which saves the drive from Thong Sala.

Palita Lodge, beachfront on Haad Rin Nok, scores 9.5 for location, the joint best we list on the island, and has the highest average of our Haad Rin hotels. Sea Breeze Resort and The Cabin Beach Resort are held at their November figures (around ฿762 and ฿4,164) pending a spot check. Of the three with a January price, Palita Lodge is around ฿3,627, Explorar around ฿7,062, and Phangan Bayshore around ฿8,893. Cocohut is also held at its November figure (around ฿2,203) pending a spot check. The Cabin sits on Leela Beach, round the headland from the strip rather than on it.

The evidence here is the deepest on the island. On average our hotels have the largest review samples of any Phangan area, and none has fewer than about 1,600, so the numbers are well founded.

What those numbers say is less flattering. Averaged across the six, this is the lowest-rated area we cover on Koh Phangan, with the lowest cleanliness and value-for-money scores of any area too. That is not a reason to avoid it if the party is why you are coming, but it is worth knowing that the scores here are the weakest on the island and that they rest on more evidence than anywhere else.
