Wifi scores 9.5, the best of our six Haad Rin picks. Cleanliness and comfort are both 9.1. The rooms are the draw: dark timber ceilings, raw concrete walls with a painted whale, barn doors on runners, and a wall of glass onto a balcony with the sea beyond.
It is on Leela Beach, round the headland from the Haad Rin strip rather than on it. Booking.com lists it as beachfront with a pool, a spa and wellness centre, massage, room service and an airport shuttle, with an official four-star rating.
Two numbers are the lowest of our Haad Rin picks and both follow from that position. Location scores 8.2, because the bars and the pier are a walk over the hill, and staff score 8.9, where the rest of the area sits at 9.0 or better.
