Sairee

Sairee is the long beach up the west coast from Mae Haad, and the village behind it holds most of the island’s dive schools, bars and restaurants. If you want to walk everywhere and meet people, it is the obvious choice.

Our six picks here have the strongest averages on the island for staff, cleanliness, comfort and facilities, and the highest floor on both comfort and facilities. Koh Tao Silver Na’s holds the best location score we list on the island at 9.6.

Of those with a January price: Sunny Side Resort is around ฿4,500 a night (a Villa) and The AVA Resort around ฿7,595 (a Family Room with Garden View that sleeps 2 adults). Koh Tao Cabana is around ฿4,300 and Matina Mountain Resort around ฿1,870, both for 15 to 18 November 2026 (held for a spot check; Cabana’s January read was a Terra Spiral Patio Villa, Matina’s a Villa with Private Pool). Life Kohtao Resort is around ฿1,503 for 15 to 18 November 2026 (there was no price for 12 to 15 January 2027). Koh Tao Silver Na’s Hostel is around ฿3,398 for 15 to 18 November 2026 (left out of the January refresh: dorm beds only).

Location scores swing further here than in any other Koh Tao area, from 9.6 at Silver Na’s down to 7.1 at Matina Mountain. Three of our six sit on the hill behind the village rather than on the strip.
