Walking Street
The neon strip at the south end of Pattaya Beach Road, closed to traffic at night, running down to Bali Hai pier, and licensed to trade until four in the morning.

What we checked, 18 September 2026
Checked on 18 September 2026. The 04:00 trading limit is the one hard fact on this page, from the ministerial regulation itself. The hours the street closes to traffic, which every guide repeats, could not be traced to a Pattaya City order, so they are not stated. We have not been.
Verified via. The Ministerial Regulation Prescribing Opening and Closing Times of Service Establishments (No. 3) B.E. 2566, published in the Royal Gazette on 15 December 2023, extends trading for licensed service establishments in Bangkok, Chon Buri, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Ko Samui to 04:00. OpenStreetMap records Walking Street as a tourism attraction at 12.9274, 100.8746.
Admission
It is a public street and there is no charge to walk down it, but Pattaya City publishes no statement either way, so there is no confirmed zero here. Venues set their own cover charges and drink prices, none of which we have verified.
Walking Street runs south from the end of Pattaya Beach Road down to Bali Hai pier, lined with bars, clubs, go-go bars, restaurants and a great deal of neon. In the evening it is closed to traffic and fills with people.
The one fact with a document behind it. Chon Buri is one of five areas, with Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Ko Samui, where licensed service establishments may trade until 04:00, under a ministerial regulation published in the Royal Gazette in December 2023. That is why Walking Street keeps going long after most of Thailand has closed.
What we could not source. The hours the street closes to vehicles. Every guide gives an evening time, and we could find no Pattaya City order or police notice that sets it, so we are not repeating one.
What it costs. Nothing to walk down. What happens inside the venues is priced by the venues, and the standard advice applies here as much as anywhere in Thailand: check prices before ordering, keep your own tab, and ignore anyone steering you to a show or a bar off the main street.
Who it is not for. This is Pattaya’s adult nightlife district, and it makes no effort to hide it. Families, and anyone who finds that uncomfortable, will have a better evening at the night markets or the Sanctuary of Truth’s night tour.
What we have not done. Been. Jesse and Stacey spent five nights in Pattaya in March 2025, and this listing waits for his account like the rest.
