The numbers behind it are extraordinary. Staff score a perfect 10, the joint best on the island. Comfort scores 9.9, the best we list on Koh Phangan outright. Cleanliness is 9.8, wifi a perfect 10, facilities and value for money both 9.5.
The building is the point. The rooms are set hard against a face of weathered granite boulders, with full-height glass so the rock and the ferns growing out of it fill one entire wall, and a shallow pool of water running along the base of it. Inside is pale and calm: timber floors, yellow accents, woven pendant lamps. Booking.com lists a pool, a garden, room service, bicycle rental and an airport shuttle, with an official five-star rating.
The caution is depth, not quality. Its 295 reviews across both platforms are the smallest sample in Thong Nai Pan, in an area where one property carries more than six thousand. The cheapest booking for two on our dates was a suite with a terrace at around ฿10,000 a night.
