Thong Nai Pan

Thong Nai Pan is two bays side by side on the north-east coast, Thong Nai Pan Yai and Thong Nai Pan Noi, about 11km from the Thong Sala pier in a straight line. Both Lomprayah and Seatran leave it out of the hotel transfers they sell with their ferry tickets, so plan your own way there.

On almost every measure this is the strongest area we cover on Koh Phangan. Averaged across our six picks it has the best scores on the island for cleanliness, comfort, facilities, value for money, location and wifi, and the highest average score overall at 9.30. It also holds Ozone Cave, which at 9.75 across both platforms is the highest-rated place we list anywhere on Phangan.

For 12 to 15 January 2027, Ozone Cave was around ฿10,000 a night, Santhiya around ฿10,003, Buri Rasa Village around ฿14,410 and Anantara Rasananda around ฿20,294. Thai Terrace Bungalow and The Great Escape Chalets had no price for 12 to 15 January 2027 (their November figures were around ฿1,000 and ฿2,975).

One pattern here is worth knowing before you read the scores. Sorted by review depth, our six run: Santhiya with 6,379 reviews at 8.65, Buri Rasa with 4,099 at 9.25, The Great Escape with 2,031 at 9.35, Anantara Rasananda with 1,120 at 9.30, Thai Terrace with 846 at 9.50 and Ozone Cave with 295 at 9.75. The thinner the sample, the higher the score. That is a common shape and it does not make the high numbers wrong, but the two at the top rest on far less evidence than the two at the bottom, and Ozone Cave’s Agoda figure is nine reviews.

Wifi is the one thing you can rely on across the whole area: nothing here scores below 8.3, which is the best floor of any Phangan area.
