Bottle Beach

Checked on 18 September 2026. The beach and its lack of a lifeguard are from OpenStreetMap, the safety advice from the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the UK and Canadian governments. No operator publishes the Chaloklum boat fare, so the figure in circulation is quoted as a traveller's report. We have not been.
Verified via. OpenStreetMap maps Hat Khuat, Bottle Beach, on the north coast of Koh Phangan, recording no lifeguard, and Wikipedia describes it as reached most easily by boat along a rough track. The Tourism Authority of Thailand advises box jellyfish caution around Ko Pha-ngan, more so in the monsoon months.
Admission
No authority publishes a charge for the beach, and it is an open beach rather than a site with a gate. The cost is getting there: a travel wiki puts the longtail from Chaloklum at 150 baht a person, which is a traveller's figure, not an operator's.
Bottle Beach, Hat Khuat, is on the north coast of Koh Phangan, east of Chaloklum, in a bay closed in by hills. What makes it is the effort: Wikipedia describes the track in as rough and the easiest way in as by boat, and the longtails leave from Chaloklum.
Getting there. The boat is the easy way. A travel wiki puts it at 150 baht a person from Chaloklum; that is a traveller’s figure, and no operator publishes one, so agree the price and the pick-up time before you go. The alternative is a long hike over the hills.
Swimming. OpenStreetMap records no lifeguard. The UK government’s travel advice says people have drowned in strong rip currents in Thailand, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand advises box jellyfish caution around Ko Pha-ngan, more so in the monsoon months. Swim where you can stand and ask on the beach about the conditions that day.
