Staff score 9.7, cleanliness and comfort both 9.6, facilities 9.4 and location 9.4. Very little on the board is soft.
It is a village of pitched-roof rooms in dark timber and white render, with four-poster beds under mosquito nets, lanterns on the balconies and a long pool running through the gardens to the sand. Booking.com lists it as beachfront, with the pool, a fitness centre, massage, room service and an airport shuttle, with an official four-star rating.
The one number worth weighing is value for money at 9.0, the lowest figure on its own board though still a high score in absolute terms. The cheapest room for two on our dates was a deluxe king at around ฿14,410 a night.
