Chaweng is Samui’s main beach and the reason most people can picture the island at all. It runs for several kilometres down the east coast, and behind the sand sits the densest concentration of hotels, bars and restaurants anywhere on Samui.

The guest data makes the case better than adjectives do. Of the seven properties we list here, every single one scores 8.7 or above on location, and two of them, Chaweng Garden and King’s Garden, hit 9.5. Individual properties elsewhere score higher, three reach 9.7, but no other area holds a floor this high across seven listings. When thousands of guests independently rate a location that highly, they are telling you something concrete: you can walk out of the hotel and be somewhere.

The trade is obvious and worth stating plainly. Chaweng is busy. If your idea of an island holiday is hearing the sea rather than a bar, Lamai and Choeng Mon score lower on location precisely because they are quieter, and that may be exactly what you want instead.

Prices here span a wide band. Chaweng Garden was quoting around ฿2,485 a night for a three-star directly on the beach, while Samui Paradise and Amari sit above ฿4,400. The pattern in our data is that you pay for the star rating rather than the position, because almost everything here is well positioned.
