Than Sadet Waterfall
The stream and falls in the east of the island that give Than Sadet-Ko Pha-ngan National Park its name, on an island King Rama V visited many times.

Checked on 18 September 2026. The fee comes from the department's own table. Its page for the park returned errors every time, so hours and any seasonal closure are not confirmed. English-language sources describe royal inscriptions carved into rocks near the river; we could not confirm from an official source which kings' they are, so the page does not name them. We have not been. The Khao Ra closure was added on 19 September 2026 from the Department of National Parks' 2026 closure announcement, as republished by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Verified via. OpenStreetMap maps Than Sadet Waterfall inside the Than Sadet-Ko Pha-ngan National Park boundary, and the park takes its name from it. The Department of National Parks' open-data fee table gives the park's foreign adult rate as 100 baht. The Tourism Authority of Thailand notes that King Rama V visited Ko Phangan many times during his reign.
Admission

Than Sadet is a rocky stream in the forest on the east side of Koh Phangan, running down in a chain of small falls and pools towards the sea. The national park that covers much of the island is named after it.
The royal connection. The Tourism Authority of Thailand notes that King Rama V visited Ko Phangan many times. English-language sources describe royal initials carved into the rocks near the river mouth. We could not confirm from an official source which kings left them, so we are not naming them, but the point stands: this is a site with royal associations, and it is treated with respect. The UK government’s travel advice reminds visitors that criticising the monarchy is a crime in Thailand.
What it costs. The Department of National Parks publishes the rate for this park: 100 baht for a foreign adult, 50 for a child. We could not confirm where on the way in it is collected.
When not to go. Canada’s travel advice for Thailand says jungle treks are not advisable in the rainy season because of the risk of mudslides. On the Gulf side the Tourism Authority’s green season is October to December. In the same national park, the Department of National Parks’ 2026 closure announcement shuts the Khao Ra hiking trail from 15 May to 15 November 2026.
